Enhanced Roof Coverage for New Modtek Shingle Roof Customers.
We are excited to announce that Modtek Roofing Inc. is now a TAMKO PRO Certified Contractor. TAMKO Building Products LLC is a manufacturer of shingle roofs for residential properties since 1944. They are a “vertically integrated company”. Meaning, TAMKO owns and operates many of the raw materials found in the shingle roofs they manufacture. This is how the company ensures the quality of the shingles delivered straight to our local office.
Modtek Roofing is the only TAMKO PRO Certified Contractor between Melbourne and Miami. As a TAMKO PRO Certified Contractor, we can now offer shingle roof customers the Mastercraft Limited Warranty Enhancement for the Heritage Vintage and Heritage Woodgate shingles at no extra cost to the customer. This warranty is an enhancement to TAMKO’s Standard Limited Warranty.

Benefits of the Mastercraft Limited Warranty Enhancement (an enhancement of the standard limited warranty).
- Extend the Full Start
Period during which both labor and materials are covered to 30 years - Includes the reasonable cost of tear-off, removal, and disposal
- Transferrable to a new owner for 10 years (the Standard Limited Warranty is only transferable for 5 years)
Every shingle will begin to age as soon as they are installed and exposed to the hot sun and other harsh weather conditions. It is difficult to predict exactly how long a shingle will last as no two building structures are alike and exposed to the same conditions in the same manner. Factors such as rain, the radiation of the sun, and debris from nearby trees all pertain to the aging process.
Therefore, the Mastercraft Limited Warranty Enhancement provides an element of protection for your roof, should a manufacturing defect cause your shingles to fail to perform. The warranty begins on the first date of purchase, also referred to as the full start period.
During the full start period (non-prorated), TAMKO will provide a Material Certificate for replacement shingles to the homeowner. This will allow for the repair and/or replacement of all shingles with manufacturing defects that may have caused a leak in your roof.
A Labor Payment Certificate will also be issued and payable to the cost of install and replacement of your shingle roof. The Labor Payment Certificate provides a reasonable cost of tear-off, removal and disposal of shingles with manufacturing defects.
After the Full Start Period, TAMKO’s obligation is limited to providing a prorated Material Certificate for replacement Shingles. Proration will be based on the remaining years in the Term of the Standard Limited Warranty (10 years). Click here to read the Standard Limited Warranty.
The homeowner then has the power to transfer the Standard Limited Warranty in conjunction with the Mastercraft Limited Warranty Enhancement to a purchaser, one time, during the first 10 years.
Eligibility Requirements: Mastercraft Limited Warranty
- Heritage Woodgate or Heritage Vintage Shingles must be installed on a single or multifamily dwelling. Building for religious services, condominiums, schools, office buildings, or multi-use structures are also eligible. However, buildings with swimming pools or used for manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural activities are not eligible
- All roof components above the roof deck must be properly installed by a TAMKO® Pro Certified Roofing Contractor such as Modtek Roofing.
- Shingles must not be installed over existing shingles. Therefore, re-covers or roof-overs do not qualify.
- Shingles must be properly installed over all roof planes of the building. Partial installations will not quality for the warranty.
- Your TAMKO Pro Certified Roofing Contractor MUST register the Mastercraft Limited Warranty Enhancement within 45 days after commencing the installation of the roof. According to TAMKO, this is the responsibility of the homeowner, however, we will ensure to register at the beginning of the roof installation process.
